Caithness celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012 with a paperweight designed by Sarah Peterson featuring a delicate rose surrounded by royal blue glass. The silver shimmering rose is formed first by melting sand into the glass and then pressing it down onto a metal tool in the shape of the rose, a deep cobalt blue glass is then melted onto the back. Once cool, the front facet is cut and polished before the enscription is engraved around it. This official Diamond Jubilee commemoration paperweight measures 8cm (approx 3 inches) high and is supplied in a silk lined Caithness Diamond Jubilee box with a certificate.
