Bronze Sculptures

Jonathan Sanders and Sue Maclaurin capture the beauty and energy of wild animals in their limited edition solid bronze sculptures.

Jonathan Sanders  Sue Maclaurin

“I find working in the three dimensional form truly fascinating,” says Jonathan whose studio is near Bath.  “The pose has to have an element of drama.  Then comes the anatomy of the subject which has to be accurate, but not to the point of compromising the movement and presence of the piece.” He loves working in bronze because it reveals all the manipulation of the original material.  Its patina has a depth of colour that absorbs and reflects light.  Pick the piece up and it feels heavy in the hand.  A tactile, permanent piece of work that truly reveals the qualities of the artist’s hand.”

Sue studied at Winchester School Of Art and went on to spend several years involved with MarwellZoologicalPark, where she continued to study a variety of animals at very close quarters.  While she was there, she was commissioned to create the art work and logo for the Park’s advertising. Sue now lives in Wiltshire.

What we like about them- Bronze sculptures look and feel so much better than the mass produced cheap resin you usually find in shops, and Sue and Jonathan are the best at capturing the essence of animals.
